The landscape of Barolo, characterized by prominent and castle-topped hills, is full of history and romance centered on the Nebbiolo grape. This is a crowning achievement for the hard-working and passionate Grasso family, led by father Elio and son Gianluca. This wine tells a story from nose to finish, like a flashing film reel. The resulting Riserva Rüncot has a stunning bouquet that is all violets and prunes, followed by a classic palate of minerals, herbs, cinnamon and delicate wafts of white truffle. Licorice and mineral notes play around the edges, while the tannins are well-integrated. Sweet spices introduce this concentrated red, whose deep, sappy flavors of cherry and plum mesh effortlessly with the supple texture.
